… to be the life of the party. After all, it is simply not done according to western societal rules. What is so disappointing is that, despite us moving forward in the feminist movement, people still gawk at outspoken women and loud party girls as though they’ve broken some kind of societal code.
I wonder if this is more of a regional expectation. My perception is that women in the US are expected to be more social than men, in general. And that this is especially true in the south, where I grew up. So introversion in females is less acceptable. But I could be wrong.
